Newcastle University Fine Art Building & The Hatton Gallery.
Art and culture in the
North East is preparing for a massive influx of new talent as the fifty-two undergraduates
from Newcastle University BA Hons course showcase the product of four years of hard
graft. The students are working hard to transform their studios into gallery spaces
in which to show a large body of diverse and varied work giving visitors a chance
to experience and invest in the new artists.
This year's graduating students have
spent four years honing in skills in a variety of disciplines from ambitious sculpture
to innovative film, painting, photography and socially engaged art projects. The
graduates stand out for their initiative and enterprising spirit, many of them having
exhibited their work in venues across Newcastle such as the Ctrl/Alt/Shift exhibition
at the BALTIC Centre for contemporary Arts in March and exhibition spaces in the
Ouseburn valley, Newcastle.
